This design is presented in a dark grey base, chosen to reflect the restrained, low-visibility character associated with Sweden's current frontline fighter while providing a neutral foundation for the markings.

The front features a low-visibility Swedish roundel, rendered tonally rather than in full colour and scaled for balance. Centred on the chest, the marking reflects the measured, understated visual language associated with contemporary Swedish military aviation.

The right sleeve carries a subtle FARA-style intake warning marking, applied as a technical reference rather than a decorative element. Its reduced scale reflects the understated visual language found on operational Gripen aircraft.

The JAS 39 Gripen E represents the most advanced evolution of Sweden’s indigenous multirole fighter programme. Developed by Saab as a comprehensive update rather than a simple incremental upgrade, the Gripen E was designed to meet the demands of modern air combat while preserving the core principles that defined earlier Gripen variants: efficiency, adaptability, and national independence.

Compared to the Gripen C/D, the E variant features a larger airframe with increased internal fuel capacity, enabling extended range and endurance. The aircraft is powered by the General Electric F414 engine, providing significantly greater thrust and improved performance across the flight envelope.

Avionics form the centrepiece of the Gripen E’s evolution. The aircraft is equipped with the Raven ES-05 AESA radar, advanced electronic warfare systems, and a highly integrated sensor fusion architecture.
