This tribute tee is produced in a dark gray base, reflecting the restrained, low-visibility character of Sweden’s current frontline fighter.
A muted Swedish roundel is centred on the chest, rendered tonally rather than in full colour. Its scale and placement reference contemporary operational markings, where clarity is achieved through restraint.
A subtle FARA-style intake warning marking is applied on the right sleeve, introduced as a technical accent rather than a visual statement.
Finished with a discreet internal Flight Insignia neck mark, the design is deliberate and measured—an understated reference to the Gripen E, translated into everyday form.

The JAS 39 Gripen E represents the most advanced evolution of Sweden’s indigenous multirole fighter programme. Developed by Saab as a comprehensive update rather than a simple incremental upgrade, the Gripen E was designed to meet the demands of modern air combat while preserving the core principles that defined earlier Gripen variants: efficiency, adaptability, and national independence.
Compared to the Gripen C/D, the E variant features a larger airframe with increased internal fuel capacity, enabling extended range and endurance. The aircraft is powered by the General Electric F414 engine, providing significantly greater thrust and improved performance across the flight envelope.
Avionics form the centrepiece of the Gripen E’s evolution. The aircraft is equipped with the Raven ES-05 AESA radar, advanced electronic warfare systems, and a highly integrated sensor fusion architecture. These systems allow the pilot to manage air-to-air and air-to-ground missions with reduced workload while maintaining situational awareness in complex threat environments.
The Gripen E was designed from the outset for network-centric warfare, with secure data links enabling real-time information sharing with other aircraft, ground units, and command structures. At the same time, it retains the ability to operate from dispersed road bases—continuing Sweden’s long-standing doctrine of survivability through decentralisation.
