Design Details — Rafale Solo Display Team Signature

This Signature tee reinterprets the French Air & Space Force Rafale Solo Display Team's 10th Anniversary display aircraft through measured graphics and carefully balanced placement, inspired by one of the team's most distinctive commemorative liveries.

At the heart of the composition sits the Flight Insignia Signature Mark, derived directly from the flowing tricolour graphic carried on the aircraft's canard. Rather than reproducing the anniversary scheme in its entirety, this design isolates a defining visual elemen and refines it into a restrained emblem—preserving the character of the original aircraft while creating a design that stands confidently on its own.

The left sleeve carries the official Armée de l'Air anniversary typography, accompanied by the French roundel, while the right sleeve features the commemorative "10" emblem marking the team's tenth anniversary. Together, these elements balance authenticity with the understated aesthetic that defines the Signature Series.

The interior is finished with a discreet Flight Insignia neck label, completing a design created for those who appreciate aviation history expressed through thoughtful, understated design rather than overt graphics.

Ten Years of the Rafale Solo Display

Established in 2009, the Rafale Solo Display became the French Air Force’s dedicated showcase for the Rafale’s agility and performance. Ten years later, the team marked a decade of display flying with a commemorative aircraft created for the team's 10th Anniversary during the 2019 display season.

Rafale C serial 109, carrying the code 4-IM and assigned to ETR 3/4 “Aquitaine” at Saint-Dizier, received a distinctive anniversary scheme designed by Régis “Rage” Rocca. Gold anniversary graphics were layered across contrasting black and grey surfaces, with French roundels and prominent Armée de l’Air lettering completing an identity conceived to celebrate both the aircraft and the team behind its displays.

The aircraft was flown during the 2019 season by Captain Sébastien Nativel, callsign “Babouc,” and returned in 2020 with Captain Jérôme Thoule, callsign “Schuss.” Its continued use across both seasons is why the scheme is identified as the Rafale Solo Display 2019/2020 livery.

The Flight Insignia design draws directly from this aircraft. The chest Signature Mark adapts the French tricolour element carried on the canard, while the sleeve graphics reinterpret selected anniversary markings from the upper surfaces. Rather than reproducing the complete livery, the composition isolates its defining visual elements and presents them through the restrained visual language of the Signature Series.
